A 5 days safari to Queen Elizabeth National Park and Semuliki National Park
TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Drive to the west and have a stop over at the equator for photos, through volcanic formations of the Western Rift Valley towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. The descent reveals a stunning panorama of Lakes George and Edward amidst game filled plains. In the evening, proceed for a unique two-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga channel and into Lake Edward. You will see a composition of hippos and many mammals drinking at the water's edge. The cruise offers an excellent platform for photography and game viewing. The bird life is colorful and abundant. Return for dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology.
Day 2: Game drives and Chimpanzee tracking.
Very early morning before sunrise, you will have a game drive in the park to catch the early risers. You will view the diversity of animals such as: Buffaloes, Lions, Hippos, Spotted Hyenas, Elephants, Antelopes, Leopards and the elusive Giant Forest Hog, Uganda Kobs, water and bush bucks, bush pigs and many others in this park. Return for the late breakfast and relax. After Lunch, head for the Kyambura Gorge to carry out the Chimpanzee tracking. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Institute of Ecology.
Day 3: Transfer to Semiliki
After breakfast, head to Semuliki. The drive will take you down the eastern side of Lake Albert. The park is known for its night game drive that give you a good view of the nocturnal mammals like the white tailed mongoose and slender mongoose, standard and pennant winged nightjars, cats, hyenas, leopards and many more. Overnight at Semliki safari Lodge/Kanyankyu Ecological site
Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking
Have a morning breakfast and later head to the beautiful gallery rainforest to carry out chimpanzee tracking. These are usually tracked at dawn or dusk due to the fact that the chimpanzees tend to disappear in the middle of the day. You will also carry out the birding activity in the forest. Return to the lodge and have a relaxation. Overnight at Semliki safari Lodge/Kanyankyu Ecological site
Day 5: Return to Kampala.
Have an early morning game drive while heading out of the park and returning to Kampala.
