TOUR ITINERARY
7 days Classic Rwanda Tour.
Day 1: Arrive in Kigali Airport and transfer to Nyungwe Forest
Arrive at the Kigali Airport and be met by our safari guide. Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Along the way, you will make a stop over at the local markets and at the Rwanda’s former King, traditional palace in Nyanza. Drive past green fields of tea scattered across the hillsides and the small wooden houses unique to the areas surrounding Nyungwe Forest. Overnight at ORTPN or Gisakura Guest House
Day 2: An optional guided nature walk or Chimpanzee tracking
Guided nature walk in the forest to see a variety of animals and some of the three hundred bird species found here, which include the Rwenzori turaco and black and white casqued hornbill. Go on an escorted walk in search of large groups of colobus. You can also have an optional of a chimpanzee tracking. Have a relaxed afternoon Overnight at ORTPN or Gisakura Guest House
Day 3: Head to Kinigi
Have morning breakfast and later return to Kigali. Have lunch in Kigali city and afterwards, proceed north to Kinigi via Ruhengeri. Enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is well known. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge, La Palme Hotel or Kinigi Guest House.
Day 4: First Gorilla trekking
An early morning breakfast, before you report to the Park Headquarters to track gorillas in Parc National des Volcans. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, arduous and tiring, but adventurous. The most interesting part is the real contact of the client with the primates and a worth the effort. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge, La Palme Hotel or Kinigi Guest House.
Day 5: Second gorilla trekking
Second opportunity to trek the mountain gorillas, and then later have a stopover to visit the local communities or trek to the Karisoke center, famously set up by Dian Fossey before returning to Kigali for the overnight. . Dinner and overnight at the Gorilla nest lodge, La Palme Hotel or Kinigi guest house
Day 6: City tour in Kigali.
Return to Kigali city once again, after breakfast. Go for a City tour including visits to the market, a pottery project, handicraft shops, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre and the genocide memorial.
Day 7: Departure
Head for the Kigali Airport for a departure flight.
