Day 1: Arrive in Kigali
Arrive at the Kigali airport, meet and greet, go for a tour of the city including a visit to the market, a pottery project, handicraft shops, the Franco-Rwandan cultural centre and the genocide memorial, then a two-hour drive to Kiningi via Ruhengeri. Dinner and overnight at the Gorilla nest lodge, La Palme Hotel or Kinigi guest house (FB)
Day 2: Gorilla trekking
An early morning breakfast, before you report to the Park Headquarters to track gorillas in Parc National des Volcans. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, arduous and tiring, but adventurous. The most interesting part is the real contact of the client with the primates and a worth the effort. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Lodge, La Palme Hotel or Kinigi Guest House.
Day 3: Enroute to Akagera National Park.
After breakfast, enroute to Akagera National Park in the drier parts of eastern Rwanda. Here we tour in the most complex savannah ecosystem of East Africa with extraordinary landscapes, astonishing bird life and the rare big game animal. There are many optional activities centered on the lake in the park, such as canoeing and fishing, or you can relax with a cool drink and enjoy the beautiful environment. Day 4: Morning Game Drive
After an early breakfast we take a final game drive where you will view a large variety of game in the open grasslands dotted with marshes, lakes and rivers such as Zebra, antelope, gazelle, hippo, warthog, buffalo, the diminutive oribis and secretive bushbuck and an amazing variety of bird life which emerge from the woodland to drink at the lakes, while lucky visitors might stumble across a leopard, a spotted hyena or even a stray lion. Day 5: Enroute to Nyungwe National Park
Travel to Nyungwe through Butare, which is Rwanda's second city. You will visit the palace and fascinating National Museum. Continue on ward past tea estates spread across the hillside to stay for two nights at the Gisakura Lodge. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Lodge
Day 6: Primate Tracking in Nyungwe
Guided nature walk in the forest to see a variety of animals and some of the three hundred bird species found here, which include the Rwenzori turaco and black and white casqued hornbill. Go on an escorted walk in search of large groups of colobus. You can also have an optional of a chimpanzee tracking. Have a relaxed afternoon Overnight at ORTPN or Gisakura Guest House
Day 7: Departure
Drive to Kigali Airport for the departure flight.
