A 5 days Uganda Safari in Bwindi and Lake Mburo National Parks.
TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1: Kampala - Lake Mburo
After breakfast, depart Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park, a 230km drive having a stopover at the Equator and Royal drum makers. When approaching the park, you will have a game drive. Have lunch at the park and proceed for a boat trip on Lake Mburo to view bird and animal life at the banks. You will have dinner and an overnight at Mantana Tented Camp or Rwonyo camp.
Day 2: Game drive
After breakfast, you will go for game viewing which is the major tourist activity in this Park, being famous for its richness in biodiversity. It has an estimate of 68 different species of mammals such as Topi, Impala, Zebra, Buffalo, Eland, leopard, Hyenas and jackals. The five lakes within the park attract hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds, while the fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists, such as the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus Gonalek. After the view, head back to the Camp. Dinner and overnight at Mantana Tented Camp or Rwonyo camp.
Day 3: Mburo - Bwindi
Enroute to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a home of mountain gorillas which is west across the Albertine Rift Valley, roughly 7hours. Its hilly and muddy topography attracts gorillas, birdlife such as the Bar Tailed Trogon, African Green Broadbill and many others. On your arrival, you may decide to have a nature walk which leads you to Munyaga Waterfall having an opportunity to view the blue monkeys, Grey-cheeked Mangabey and other primate species or an optional relaxation the accommodation unit. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Resort/Buhoma Community Bandas (Full Board)
Day 4: Gorilla trekking
After an early morning breakfast, a meeting with a ranger guide will follow before setting off into the gorilla sanctuary. The rain forest landscape is steep and densely forested. The trek to find the earth’s greatest primate can take up to a full day, but the thrill of discovering this gentle giant in it’s own habitat is rated as one of Africa’s best wildlife watching opportunities. By the time you return to the camp the memories will be embedded in your mind forever. Overnight at Gorilla Resort /Buhoma Community Bandas
Day 5: departure
Head back to Kampala having lunch enroute.
